Although not considered to be a psychedelic by itself, Banisteriopsis Caapi has gained a reputation for it’s healing properties, especially as the main ingredient of the visionary brew Ayahuasca.
Banisteriopsis caapi, also known as caapi or yajé, is a jungle vine native to the Amazon rainforest which is commonly used for its MAO-inhibiting properties as the basis of ayahuasca. In addition to its hypnotic effect, caapi is used for its healing properties as a purgative, effectively cleansing the body of parasites and helping the digestive tract.
Black Caapi, also known as “Trueno”, is considered one of the more purgative and physical caapi’s.
Yellow Caapi vine has been used as a medicine in South America for thousands of years, and is revered as one of the most powerful plant-medicines in the world. The most favored and most desired variety by the curandero is the Cielo or Yellow Banisteriopsis caapi vine. Traditionally it is brewed by the shaman, with the Psychotria Viridis leaves into a concoction known as Ayahuasca.
This drink is used in rituals for healing physical ailments as well as taken as a means of connecting with the Spirit to learn what is right for oneself. It is unique in that out of all the powerful psychoactive plant medicines in the world, ayahuasca is the only one which is prescribed to even children, pregnant women and the elderly as it is believed to be inherently healing to the body regardless of the psychoactive ‘journeying’ that parallels.
This vine was grown in Ecuador and was harvested within the month! Super fresh.
*Not for human consumption* this vine contains the psychoactives Harmala and Harmaline, powerful MAOI chemicals which are psychedelic in nature. This is being sold for ritual incense use or for the honoring of the plant-spirit without consumption. Warning: This product is a short acting MAOI (Mono Amine Oxidase Inhibitor). It is very dangerous to combine internally with a SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) and other drugs.
